British expat reveals the three things Australians cant do - as his rant about tradies quickly backfires

A British expat living in Sydney has unleashed on Australian tradies, claiming they are hardwired to refuse to work past a certain hour.

The construction worker claimed his Australian colleagues become too preoccupied with knock-off drinks to work past 3pm each day.

These boys dont work past three oclock; they cant do it. They start getting itchy, he said in a video shared to social media.

They say, "Oh its three oclock. I want a f***ing schooner".

Theyre hardwired to stop working and go the beach and have a beer.

Australian trade workers typically start their day early at about 6 or 7am and finish after an eight-hour day at 3pm – although it can vary.

Many were quick to defend Aussie tradies in the comments.

In defence of tradies, they do start work anywhere from 5/6am, so theyve done a full days work by 3(pm), one argued.

Do tradies knock-off too early?

I was a tradesman who worked from 7.30am to 5pm most days, sometimes until it was dark if I had to, another agreed.

Yet another whinging Pom, one Aussie couldnt help but add.

Australian tradies typically work early, beginning with the sun in the winter and aiming to finish up as early as possible to dodge the heat in summer.

The Building Institute of New South Wales said about half of tradies work nine or more hours every workday and one in 10 work more than 11 hours.

But that wasnt the only thing annoying the Brit about Australia.

He claimed Australians cant name places and instead took inspiration from England - and were terrible drivers.

So many places, even just in Sydney youve got like Guildford, Epping, Liverpool... Newcastle as well, he said.

Many viewers were quick to remind him that many places in Australia were named by English settlers, derived from locations in England.

It was the British that named the places, not Aussies, one said.

[Oh my god] the English colonised Australia and named everything. Dont you know your own history, mate? another added.

The Brit also accused Australians of being bad drivers.

Youre in Sydney though, arent you? Im scared to drive in Sydney, one said.

Sydney! Im terrified of their driving. Crazy fast. But maybe thats how you have to drive to get anywhere, another Aussie added.

Any time you want a lift to the airport champ [message] me, one Aussie offered.
