The inquiry investigating what went on during training has been completed and is ready to be published.

The report comes just weeks after the new season kicked off without Mr Pernice.

The BBC began evidence gathering soon after the allegations were made, which included claims from two other stars.

Mr Pernice, 34, was adamant he had a recording in which Ms Abbington apologised for being a nightmare in training.

He quit in May and has since started a new job on the Italian version of the show, it was announced last week.

A source told The Sun yesterday that the BBC plans to notify all sides of the outcome of the review early next week but that only a few details are likely to be made public with the full report being sent to Ms Abbington, Mr Pernice and their legal teams.

The source said executives at the Beeb are hoping that this will draw a line under the matter but the source said its very unlikely it will do that and they could be dealing with this for months and months.

A separate source told the newspaper: In their very first interview with Amanda, investigators told her that they fully believed her account of events.

But they added that Ms Abbington later felt as if investigators, and others at the BBC, doubted at least some of her complaints.

The actress made a series of accusations about the professionals teaching methods and described his behaviour as unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean.

BBC bosses are said to be full of panic and worry regarding the publication of the report, the Mail revealed previously.

There are concerns at the Corporation about how the two parties will react when the results of the investigation are revealed.

There have been high-level meetings among bosses as they navigate how to deliver their findings as they fear the looming possibility of legal action from the celebrities if either is disappointed by the outcome.

One source told the Mail: This is an absolute mess and the BBC dont know what to do for the best. There is a lot of panic and worry that whoever it does go in favour of will really go for the BBC, so every single word of whatever is released doesnt give anyone the chance to complain.

They literally dont know what to do so it is being delayed and delayed. [Director-General] Tim Davie is a good guy but this is impossible to navigate.

Sources at the BBC say that those fears have superseded the worries about having the outcome hanging over the new Strictly Come Dancing series.

Ms Abbingtons friends are said to have left the BBC furious with claims that they are like a boys club.

They also told of their fears that the verdict would not go her way and also claimed the result would be a whitewash.

BBC insiders say that Strictly is run entirely by women until it gets to Mr Davies level.

Charlotte Moore is chief content controller, Kate Phillips is head of unscripted, Kalpna Patel-Knight is head of entertainment and the executive producer is Sarah James.

Mr Pernice joined Strictly in 2014 and became its longest-serving male professional.

He quit in April after Ms Abbington made an official complaint to the BBC after hiring London law firm Carter-Ruck.

He then hired rival lawyers Schillings. He vehemently denies Ms Abbingtons claims.
