The Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song concert birthday celebration included performances and celebrity guest appearances from Renée Zellweger, Dale Murphy and Killer Mike.

Former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama joined for virtual remarks honoring their single-term Democratic predecessor.

Hes doing okay, Jason said of the former president just two weeks before he turns 100.

I mean hes been in hospice for over 19 months now and he has really physically diminished and cant do much on his own, but he is emotionally engaged and still having experiences and laughing, loving, he added.

The Centenarian birthday milestone will come just over a month before the 2024 presidential election.

Jason previously shared in June during an interview with Southern Living that the Carter familys 99-year-old patriarch is no longer awake every day.

[Hes] experiencing the world as best he can as he continues through this process, Jason said at the time.

The grandkid of the former president also noted that there has really been no change in health after over a year in at-home hospice care, which he first entered in February 2023.

During this time, Carters wife Rosalynn died at their Plains, Georgia home in November 2023 at the age of 96.

The funeral for his beloved wife was the last time Carter was seen publicly.

After 77 years of marriage… I just think none of us really understand what its like for him right now, Jason told Southern Living in his conversation earlier this summer.

We have to embrace that fact, that theres things about the spirit that you just cant understand.
