Police in Manchester have launched a double murder investigation after two people were found stabbed to death in the street.
Emergency services were called to Great Southern Street in Moss Side, less than two miles south of the city centre, after the individuals were discovered.
Despite the best efforts of first responders both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has arrested one man on suspicion of murder and established a cordon as it carries out an investigation.
The full length of Great Southern Street has been closed to traffic, according to traffic data platform Inrix.

An image shared with the Manchester Evening News showed a police forensics tent placed in the middle of the road at the junction of Great Southern Street and Kippax Street.
The newspaper reported that both individuals were stabbed.
GMPs Longsight and Moss Side division said in a statement this morning: There is an emergency services presence on Great Southern Street in Moss Side whilst officers respond to an incident.
Police have attended and despite the best efforts of emergency services, two people were treated at the scene and have sadly been pronounced dead.
We have arrested one man on suspicion of murder.
Please avoid the area as there is a large emergency service presence while we establish the full circumstances of the incident this morning.
