Detectives are investigating a suspicious death after finding a mans body in remote NSW bushland.


Detectives are investigating a suspicious death after finding a mans body in remote NSW bushland. 

Police found the body about 3km outside Wentworth, southwest NSW, on Thursday morning.

Officers were called to reports of a scrub fire at Log Bridge Road and found the deceased man during a search of the area. 

The man is believed to be aged in his 50s and has yet to be formally identified, a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which has been deemed suspicious.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death.

A crime scene has been established and forensically examined. 

Police are asking anyone who was in the vicinity of Wentworth and Log Bridge Road over the last week, and who may have information, CCTV, or dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
