A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly couple died in a house fire.
Emergency services were called to the property in Heron Close, Alton, Hampshire, at 4am on Monday, April 14.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said that a man aged in his 90s and a woman in her 80s were pronounced dead at the scene.
The force spokesman said that the couples next of kin had been informed.
He said: An investigation is under way alongside Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the fire and establish the circumstances of what took place.
As part of our investigation, officers have arrested a 16-year-old boy from Alton on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.

Appealing for witnesses, the spokesman added: We would like to speak to anyone who may have information that could assist with our inquiries.
